Troop 265 of Madonna, Maryland

We are Troop 265 located in Madonna, Maryland and we support boys in the Northern Harford area including Jarrettsville, Forest Hill, and Fallston. Celebrating nearly 50 years as a Troop, we are proud to say that we have had over 100 Scouts earn the rank of Eagle! As a solid Troop of about 40-50 boys and with a very supportive group of adult leaders, our scouts have many wonderful experiences and opportunities for personal growth and to gain new skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Our Troop is very active! We have 1-2 Troop meetings each month at the VFW in Jarrettsville on Sunday evenings, as well as a camping trip. Our program runs year-round with a small break in the summer. Scouts also have monthly patrol meetings and many other fun events! In November we welcome visiting AOL Cub Scouts to our annual Cookfest and in December we participate in Wreaths Across America. Scouts enjoy attending a week-long summer camp in July—in 2022 we went to Camp Raven Knob in North Carolina and in 2023 we went to Camp Beaumont in Ohio. We also have a yearly high adventure trip for older scouts—in 2023 we went to Seabase in the Florida Keys and this summer we are canoeing along the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in Maine. Our Troop and Scouts also give back by helping support our community with multiple service projects throughout the year.

From canoeing trips to shooting sports to backpacking, biking, caving, and more, you’ll always have an amazing story to tell when someone asks you, “What did YOU do last weekend?”

Our Troop is proud to say we have a lot of support from our community, to which in turn we give back!  We are chartered through Bethel Presbyterian Church in Madonna and meet regularly at the VFW in Jarrettsville.

Youth can join Scouts BSA if they are at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade and register on or after March 1st; OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, OR are age 11 but have not reached age 18.
